A scanner that digitises the phosphor plates used in intraoral radiography: the plate goes in the mouth, the exposure is taken with the X-ray unit and the plate is read in the machine. There is no developing, and the plate is reused. It resolves 12 line pairs per millimetre with a 35 micron pixel and delivers the image in under twenty seconds.
